Aufgewachsen in einer New-Age-Musikerfamilie, wurde ich immerermutigt, Kunst zu machen. Seit 1983 zeichne ich ständig. Ichdachte 20 Jahre lang daran, Animator zu werden, bis ich 2004 diefigurative Tonskulptur entdeckte und von Anatomie und Formbesessen wurde. Ich habe sieben Jahre damit verbracht,Anatomie und Bildhauerei nach Modellen zu lernen. DieKommunikationen, die Menschen- und Tierfiguren vermitteln,gaben mir Einblick in meine eigene Existenz. Als ich die Weltdurch eine Linse des Naturalismus betrachtete, sah ich einMysterium, das Ideen mystischer Natur hervorrief. Ich beschloss,Wissenschaft mit dem Respekt zu vermitteln, der der Religion inder Renaissance entgegengebracht wurde. Als ich in diesesGeheimnis spähte, sah ich ein großartiges Gespräch, dasTausende von Jahren Kunstgeschichte umfasste. Im Jahr 2012habe ich mein Leben dem Schaffen von Kunstwerken gewidmet,die die Konversation des Daseins ansprechen. Inspiration fürmeine Skulpturenarbeit kommt aus tiefer Meditation und Träumen. Da ist ein Meer der Fantasie, entstanden aus denErinnerungen meines Lebens, die sich wie eine Rieseneintopf vermischen und daraus der Schimmer einer neuen Ideekristallisiert. Dann wird die Idee mit Bleistift verdeutlicht, damit ich besser ordnen kann, um das Projekt zu entwickeln.In meiner Arbeit geht es um die Archetypen der Natur und wie neue Metaphern uns helfen werden, die moderneWissenschaft zu verstehen. Ich verwende Ton, Zement, Bronze und Harze um zeitlose Werke herzustellen.(eng) Growing up in a New Age family of musicians, I've always been encouraged to make art. I've been drawing allthe time since 1983. I thought of becoming an animator for 20 years until 2004 when I discovered figurative claysculpture and became obsessed with anatomy and shape. I spent seven years learning anatomy and sculpting frommodels. The communications that human and animal figures convey gave me insight into my own existence. As Ilooked at the world through a lens of naturalism, I saw a mystery that gave rise to ideas of a mystical nature. Idecided to teach science with the respect that religion was given during theRenaissance. As I peered into this secret, I saw a great conversation thatspanned thousands of years of art history. In 2012 I dedicated my life tocreating works of art that speak to the conversation of existence. Inspirationfor my sculpture work comes from deep meditation and dreams. There is asea of fantasy, created from the memories of my life, which mingle like agiant stew and crystallize the shimmer of a new idea.
