IN HARDWOOD PURCHASING<br />

IAN INGERSOLL is the owner of Ian Ingersoll Cabinetmakers,<br />

located in West Cornwall, CT.<br />

Ian Ingersoll Cabinetmakers is a custom manufacturer<br />

of cabinets, furniture, including beds, tables, chairs, and<br />

dressers. The company purchases a total yearly volume<br />

of approximately 100,000 board feet of <strong>Hardwood</strong> lumber,<br />

including Walnut, White Oak, Cherry and Ash, all<br />

FAS.<br />

Ingersoll graduated from Salisbury School, Salisbury,<br />

CT, in 1967 and is a veteran of the U.S. Army.<br />

Ingersoll has been the owner of Ian Ingersoll Cabinetmakers<br />

for 40 years. He handles daily operations, as<br />

well as lumber purchasing. His first position in the forest<br />

products industry was in 1970 when he worked as a<br />

homebuilder.<br />

Ingersoll has been married to Diane for 30 years and<br />

the couple has two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren.<br />

wife, Liz, have been married 38 years and together have<br />

ZACH UBELHOR is president of and handles lumber<br />

purchasing for Ubelhor Woodworking Inc., located in<br />

Bristow, IN.<br />

Ubelhor Woodworking is a manufacturer of moulding<br />

and dimension parts for use in furniture making. The<br />

company purchases an annual volume of approximately<br />

1 million board feet of Ash, European Beech, Cherry,<br />

Hickory, Hard and Soft Maple, Red and White Oak, Poplar<br />

and Walnut. Grades purchased include FAS, Select<br />

and Better, No. 1 Common, both surfaced and un-surfaced.<br />

Added-value services offered by the company include<br />

planing, shaping, straight-line ripping, moulding, glued<br />

paneling, sanding, tenoning, and boring. Ubelhor Woodworking<br />

also offers a CNC Machining Center, Miter lock<br />

and in-house tool making for shorter lead times for customers.<br />

Ubelhor is a graduate of Perry Central High School,<br />

located in Leopold, IN. One of his first jobs in the forest<br />

products industry was working alongside his father and<br />

eldest son to form a family-owned construction business.<br />

He has been president of Ubelhor Woodworking working<br />

alongside his brother and vice president Luke since 1994<br />

when the company was founded. In 2003, his son, Kyle,<br />

started as a vital part of the family-run business.<br />

Ubelhor Woodworking is a member of the Indiana<br />

Chamber of Commerce and the <strong>National</strong> Federation of<br />

Independent Business.<br />

Ubelhor and his wife of 41 years, Brenda, have two<br />

sons, Kyle and Zane. In his free time, he enjoys hunting,<br />

fishing and drag racing.<br />

ROBIN CARLEY is president and owner of Carley,<br />

Wood Associates Inc., located in Madison, WI. In his<br />

position, he has oversight of all functions of the company,<br />

including lumber purchasing.<br />

Carley, Wood Associates is a manufacturer of commercial<br />

and architectural furniture, fixtures and millwork.<br />

The company purchases approximately 100,000 board<br />

feet per year of <strong>Hardwood</strong> lumber in upper grades, as<br />

well as 12 truckloads of panel products. Species of lumber<br />

include Maple, Cherry, Oak, Hickory, Walnut, Poplar,<br />

Beech, Ash, Mahogany, Sapele, Makore and Douglas fir<br />

(4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4).<br />

Unique services offered by Carley, Wood Associates<br />

include producing all shop drawings, engineering, dimensioning,<br />

fabricating, assembly, finishing and installation.<br />

Carley has been president and owner of the company<br />

since its founding in 1983. He graduated from James<br />

Madison Memorial High School, Madison, WI, in 1973<br />

and the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, in 1978.<br />

His first job in the industry was during college, when he<br />

built unique pieces of furniture as well as other wood<br />

projects.<br />
