¡Nunca es tarde para empezar!
It is never too late to start!
Cuando los padres registran a sus hijos a clases de música, muchas veces me cuentan historias de que ellos también estuvieron en clases
de piano, violín o guitarra. Dicen que sus padres no insistieron cuando tuvieron dificultades en el aprendizaje y “no quisieron volver”.
He escuchado mil veces historias así, donde los padres mandan a sus hijos a clases de música porque ellos “hubieran querido continuar”.
Quiero decirles a adultos en general que NUNCA ES TARDE PARA EMPEZAR.
En la academia de música que tuve en Costa Rica, esta frase fue nuestro refrán. La enseñanza musical al adulto es muy diferente a la del
niño, pues el adulto viene porque realmente lo quiere, no lo mandó nadie, ni se siente obligado con nadie. El adulto viene a clases puramente
para disfrutar el aprender a tocar un instrumento, para salir de la rutina diaria, y por qué no, para hacer algo diferente, algo especial
solamente para él/ella.
Normalmente el adulto avanza mucho más rápido que el niño, como es lógico. La capacidad de procesar la información es, obviamente,
más alto que un niño pequeño. Por medio del artículo de esta edición, quiero motivar a todos los adultos que quisieran aprender a tocar
piano que no tengan pena, pues siempre hay tiempo para aprender algo nuevo, y los profesores estamos para eso, para ayudar a los estudiantes
a aprender, no importa la edad.
Acuérdense que hay más tiempo que vida. ¡Aprender a tocar un instrumento musical es una manera sana y educativa para pasar el tiempo,
salir del aburrimiento, y hacer algo especial para usted mismo!
When parents register their children for music classes, they often tell me stories that they too were in piano, violin, or guitar classes.
They say their parents didn't insist when they had learning difficulties and "didn't want to go back". I have heard stories like this a
thousand times, where parents send their children to music classes because they "would have wanted to continue". I want to tell adults
in general that IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START.
In the music academy that I had in Costa Rica, we use the phrase, “Teaching music to adults is very different from that of children,
as adults come because they really want to, no one sent him, nor does he feel obliged to anyone. Adults come to class purely to
enjoy learning to play an instrument, to get out of the daily routine, and why not, to do something different, something special just
for him.”.
Normally the adult advances much faster than the child, of course. The ability to process information is obviously higher than a small
child. Through the article in this edition, I want to motivate all adults who would like to learn to play piano not to feel shy, because
there is always time to learn something new, and teachers are here for that, to help students learn, regardless of their age.
Remember that there is more time than life. Learning to play a musical instrument is a healthy and educational way to pass the
time, get out of boredom, and do something special for yourself!
