BURGLARS ARE active again<br />
– this time in Ferrymead (see<br />
page 1).<br />
And understandably those<br />
businesses hit aren’t very<br />
happy.<br />
Three businesses were targeted<br />
early last Thursday morning.<br />
The timing of each break-in<br />
suggests they may have been<br />
able to sidestep security. But<br />
one of the offenders was captured<br />
on CCTV footage and<br />
hopefully his distinctive jacket<br />
will give him away.<br />
One another note, former<br />
Port Hills list MP Nuk Korako<br />
has got through his 720km<br />
cycling journey to raise money<br />
for Renee Veal, who needs a jaw<br />
news<br />
reconstruction (see page 3).<br />
Nuk’s trip has contributed<br />
$35,000 towards the $90,000<br />
needed.<br />
Said Nuk: “The legs are good<br />
and the backside is okay.”<br />
