One of my favourite events of the
year, and I say that with more than a hint
of sarcasm, is ABC’s coverage of New
Year’s Eve. And I’m pleased to say that
the ABC will again host coverage of the
New Year’s Eve concert and fireworks
spectacular, live from Sydney Harbour.
Broadcasting from the Sydney Opera
House and hosted by Charlie Pickering,
Zan Rowe and Jeremy Fernandez,
performers for ‘NYE2021: Let’s Celebrate!’
will include Tina Arena, Missy Higgins,
Casey Donovan, Beccy Cole, Adam
Harvey and Shouse. Tune in (if you dare)
from 8.30pm on Friday, December 31.
With ‘My Kitchen Rules’ getting a reboot
next year, it’s been revealed original
host and judge Manu Feidel will return to
the series. No word yet on who will join
Manu in the kitchen, but it’s safe to say
it won’t be Pete Evans. If you think you

special was presented by Nine personalities
David Campbell, Sylvia Jeffreys,
Belinda Russell, Richard Wilkins, Tim

performers including Delta Goodrem,
The Wiggles and more. If you missed it, a
repeat is available on 9NOW.
A little tip if you’re looking for new
seasons of ‘Family Guy’ and ‘American
Dad’ next year, it can be revealed that the
hit animations will be moving from 7mate
to 7flix in 2022.
If you love the original ‘Prisoner’
series from back in the day, I have some
good news for you. From January 1, free
streaming service 10 Play is set to screen
the entire original series. Consider your
summer of TV viewing sorted!
With cricket back on our screens, it
won’t be long before our other favourite
summer sport, tennis, is as well. Channel
Nine has confirmed dates for its Summer
of Tennis starting with the ATP Cup in
Sydney on January 1. A new one-off tournament,
the Sydney Tennis Classic, will
be played from January 9-15; while the
Adelaide International will be held from
January 3-15. But the one we’ll be waiting
for is the Australian Open, which will kick
off on January 17 and run for two weeks.
You’ll be able to watch every match of
the Aussie Open live on Nine, 9Gem and
9Now.
This is the final regular edition of
Chatter on the Box for another year. I hope
to see you in mid-January for my annual
Chatter on the Box Awards. It will be
controversial as always!
