Jane Eyre is one of literature’s most
compelling heroines.
As live performances start to return
following lockdown, Ruby Productions
will present Robert Johanson’s play, ‘Jane
Eyre: Life at Lowood’ early next year.
This is the story focused on Jane’s difficult
youth as an orphan left with uncaring
relative Aunt Reed who eventually
sends her to Lowood – a poor boarding
school run by cruel Mr Brocklehurst.
Trapped in horrible conditions, Jane
is able to overcome her experience and
form lifelong friendships while building
her character.
Directed by Jessica Thorpe, the period
production will showcase talented local
actors who are passionate about theatre.
You will be transported back in time as
it is full of historic costumes from 1832
Northeast England.
Open for all ages to watch, anyone
wanting to support the arts industry and
Charlotte Bronte fans alike should come
along to see the show.

at the John Lees Centre in Penrith on
January 8 and 15, 2022 at 2pm and 7pm.
