Head students chosen for <strong>2022</strong><br />

Amy Riach is looking forward to<br />

The 17­year­old had been<br />

selected as Oxford Area<br />

School’s <strong>2022</strong> headstudentand<br />

will lead an all girl student<br />

leadershipteam.<br />

‘‘I’malittle nervous. It’s going<br />

to be an exciting year.There’sa<br />

lot happening, so it will be very<br />

exciting,’’ she said at the end of<br />

last year.<br />

She aimstogrow the<br />

relationships between the<br />

senior and junior sectionsofthe<br />

year 1to<strong>13</strong>school.<br />

Beyond thisyear,she aimsto<br />

head to university to study<br />

english or the arts,withthe goal<br />

of becoming ateacher.<br />

Amy is being joined by deputy<br />

head studentCailey Holland<br />

(16),AshleighLawler (16) and<br />

Zara Frahm (17).<br />

Cailey hopes to foster<br />

relationships withother schools<br />

and is looking forwardto<br />

Casafest, the annual sportsand<br />

culturalfestivalinvolving<br />

<strong>Canterbury</strong>’s area schools.<br />

She hopes to haveacareerin<br />

the arts.<br />

Ashleigh is also keen to foster<br />

relationships bothwithinthe<br />

school and beyondthe school<br />

gate.<br />

She aimstostudy scienceor<br />

medicine after she leaves<br />

school.<br />

Zara says the leadership team<br />

is keen to initiate aschool<br />

muralproject,ifCovid­19<br />

allows.<br />

Beyond school, Zara is<br />

interestedinworkingwith<br />

children or withpeople with<br />

disabilities.<br />
