8 Thursday January 20 2022 BACK TO SCHOOL Haere mai, afio mai, welcome back to Marian College for 2022 Villa Maria College 2022 edition This year is a particularly exciting year as it will be our last full year at our Barbadoes Street site as the final countdown to our new school on Lydia Street in Papanui begins. We are especially blessed to have an incredible support network within the Marian College school community, the Catholic Diocese, Armitage Williams and everyone involved. There will be some incredible opportunities for our students to have a hands-on learning experience through the build and we are excited to bring the Marian community- both past and present- on this journey with us. Welcome to Hornby High School where our vision is to be a ‘centre of creative excellence he puna auaha’. That means we try to foster creativity in everything we do: sports and science, governance and teaching. To do that we aim to equip students with the tools they need to be creative, critical thinkers. As educators we always begin each year with that sense of optimism about what the year, the students, and the community, will bring. In 2021 we pushed for and experienced continuing student success as we have evolved our curriculum and teacher practice to match the beautiful buildings and facilities that we now use.
