Members Survey - Initial Feedback
Our recent survey asked members whether they were able to play as frequently as they wanted. Around half of the
membership were content with the number of rounds that they had played, which implies that around half were not
able to play as often as they wished. Analysing the factors associated with satisfaction with tee times, we found that
there was no significant difference by gender, length of membership or age group. Those living in the rest of the UK
or the USA/Canada were more content than those living in Scotland and Dornoch-based members in particular. Struie
members were also less likely to be concerned about tee time availability.
Last year was a particularly difficult year due to Covid, and this year will be particularly busy, with many tee times rolled
over from 2021. The Council of Management is actively considering specific changes to the tee sheet to make more
member times available in 2023. It is also considering whether constraints might be placed on the booking system to
make sure that the allocation of tee times is equitable. A number of suggestions were made in the text replies to this
section of the survey that will form part of this consideration.
