V.M.D., based in Belgium, is a privately owned manufacturer of veterinary medicines
that is active in more then 70 countries. V.M.D. has further strengthened its position
in the French market as well as export markets through the acquisition of a private
pharmaceutical laboratory, Laboratoires Biové.
Biové’s offices are located in the North of France and they also have a presence in
other areas of the world including North Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.
This acquisition supports optimizing the registration and production capabilities of
both companies. As a result both companies will be able to introduce supplementary
and new products in the near future and through this vertical integration, the new
V.M.D will be able to consolidate the range of services and expertise. In addition, an
increase in production facilities will enable V.M.D together with Biové to become an
international leader in its sector.

a global pharmaceutical and marketing company. The headquarters are based in
Bulgaria.
Merial is a French based pharmaceutical multinational group. Huvepharma acquired
Merial’s production plant in St. Louis and a number of feed additive product
registrations for the US market. This acquisition gives HUVEPHARMA an immediate
access to the US market.
