Pentapharm Ltd. is headquartered in Basel Switzerland and employs about 200
people at locations in Switzerland, Japan and Brazil. Pentapharm holds a global
leading position in the development and production of active ingredients and system
solutions for the cosmetic industry and is also present in niche pharmaceutical and
diagnostics markets.
DSM is active worldwide in nutritional and pharma ingredients, performance
materials and industrial chemicals. Its subsidiary DSM Nutritional Products is the
world’s leading supplier of vitamins, carotenoids and other fine chemicals to the
feed, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
Pentapharm was owned by two founding families. In the context of determining a
successor for the CEO, who was also a member of one of the two owning families,
the two families decided to sell 100% of their shares.

for sale, looked for and contacted possible buyers and managed the entire
divestment process. Binder Corporate Finance was assisted by its alliance partner
Holland Corporate Finance in introducing the opportunity to the headquarters of
DSM in the Netherlands.
