4 How Do I ....
In this section you will find a series of topics on using the software and also what to do when things
go wrong.
4.1 Prepare for recording?
As usual, good preparation will save a lot of stress later on. Once you have captured video there is
very little that can easily be done to to improve it, you need to capture good video to start with.
You can find many useful resources at the:
Timewarp Product Support Centre at http://www.siliconcoach.com/support/?page_id=342.
You should focus on:
o Step 3 (Setting up your hardware)
o Step 4 (Getting good video).
Best Practice for Videoing area on the Siliconcoach website at http://www.siliconcoach.com/
support/?page_id=189.
NOTE: You can now capture using Video to USB converter devices. For more information see "How
do I find the best USB converter?"
4.2 Set up to capture video?
The Setup Screen is where you prepare for video capture or where you reload a previous Timewarp
Project.
You can learn about the Project screen at "How do I revisit a Project"
The Live screen has been divided into 4 clear steps, namely
a) Selecting the camera.
b) Confirming you can see a
video.
c) Setting the Warp (delay).
d) Pressing START to start
recording.
a. Selecting the Camera
Selecting the camera and its corresponding settings is the only part that needs more explanation.
First, you need to select a device from the pull down menu. Depending on the type of device there
may be more settings you need to set. Some devices like Video to USB converters (eg Dazzle DVC
100) have a huge number of settings, other devices (eg MiniDV cameras) have no settings. We have
tried to filter out irrelevant settings but we cannot control them all as it is different for every device.
