Your guide to finding a home
New generation scheme
What is it?
Anyone over 18 who is an Islington resident living
with their family in a social rented home.
Who is it for?
Anyone over 18 who has been a
member of an Islington Council or
housing association household.
How does it work?
If you are single, you can apply for a
one-bedroom or studio property. If
you have children you can apply for a
two-bedroom home. To apply,
pick up a housing register application
form at your local area housing office
or download a form from the
council’s website at
www.islington.gov.uk.
You need to prove your address for
each of the last five years. For each
year, you must provide two
documents proving your address
from two different sources (eg NOT
two phone bills). The proof must
correspond with the address
information given on the application
form.
We will give priority to those
applicants who are overcrowded and
you must also meet the general
conditions of the housing register.
If you have a disability that might
affect your priority for housing
please let us know.
We will let you know if you have
been successful once your
application has been processed.
