Rent deposit scheme<br />
What is it?<br />
If your landlord is part of this scheme the council<br />
will pay your deposit so you don’t have to.<br />
Who is it for?<br />
If you have applied to the council as<br />
homeless or you have been accepted<br />
as homeless you may be considered<br />
for this scheme.<br />
How does it work?<br />
A housing officer will assess whether<br />
you qualify for this scheme and tell<br />
you whether places are available. We<br />
work with landlords and agents to<br />
make sure have a steady supply of<br />
accommodation.We can also provide<br />
you with help if you would like to<br />
find the accommodation yourself.<br />
What are my chances?<br />
You can apply to live in any area<br />
using this scheme, so you will have a<br />
lot more choice. <strong>Your</strong> housing advice<br />
officer or housing benefit officer will<br />
be able to advise you on what size of<br />
property and area would best suit<br />
your needs.<br />
