Sun & Water Smart
Hats, sunglasses, shirts, and sunscreen are required for campers to protect themselves from the effects
of the sun. Camp staff will assist our younger campers to apply sunscreen. Camp staff are directed to
apply sunscreen with their hands to your child on any exposed skin (arms, legs, face, neck, and ears) if
your child asks for assistance, or requires it due to age or ability. Camp staff do have access to and will
carry with them extra sunscreen and if your child does not bring his or her own to camp, staff will apply
the sunscreen that we have on hand. Please ensure to send your child with a water bottle. During the
camp day, staff are required to ensure that campers (and themselves) drink and refill their water bottles
at least three times.
Weekly Schedules & Newsletters
All camps have an approved weekly schedule of events. Your child’s Camp Director can show you a copy
or you can request to see a copy in our camp office. Schedules are subject to change without notice
based on a variety of factors – mostly weather.
An information email is sent out during the week leading up to your child’s camp. This email will contain
essential information on the camp activities and what to bring, as well as the name of your camp
director and where to meet him/her when you arrive in the morning.
Lost & Found
Any items left at the end of the camp day will be placed in the Lost & Found POD (located in the parking
lot) during the summer. Items will be left for the duration of the week and on Friday at 6:00pm any
items left will be separated as follows:
Items with a name label will be washed (if appropriate) and left for pick up in the main lost and found
for up to three weeks. After that time they will be donated. Items that do not have a name label will be
donated. During the camp day and throughout the week, our staff will do their best to help campers
keep track of their own belongings and will work hard to reunite lost items with their owners. To make
this process more successful, please be sure that everything has a name label and that your children are
able to identify their own items. We are unable to retain items past the end of summer as we get ready
for our fall programs and our before and after school programs. All unclaimed items are donated to
charity. Please ensure that you label each item with your child’s full name so that we can help return it
to him/her during camp. For labels, we recommend mabelslabels.ca
Cancellation & Refund Policy
It is extremely rare that a camp is cancelled due to low participation or for any other reason. Every effort
is made to find a suitable substitute for your child. If we are unable to provide a satisfactory substitute,
your fees will be fully refunded to the same method of payment.
To cancel a camp registration, please email info@dovercourt.org with your child’s name, the name of
the camp, and the date of the camp. Cancellations cannot be done online.
Refunds will be provided up to 3 weeks (21 days) prior to the start date and subject to a $20
administration fee (this fee is waived if the amount is left as an account credit).
