Around 7.45am, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews were called to Portia Road over reports the mixer had collided with a car. On arrival, firefighters found the truck had careered into the front wall of the house, impacting two gas cylinders and causing a water main to burst. No one was inside the home at the time of the crash. Both drivers were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Pendle Hill: Truck hits power pole in early hours of the morning A truck caused a local power outage after colliding with a power pole in Pendle Hill on Wednesday, <strong>June</strong> 15. About 5.00am, police officers attended Wentworth Ave at the intersection of Bungaree Road following reports that a truck had collided with a power pole. The truck caused significant damage to the power pole, resulting in local power outages that were intermittent throughout the morning. Energy crews attended the site to undertake repairs. Investigations are ongoing. North Rocks: Stolen car left crashed on street A stolen 2006 Holden Commodore has been left abandoned and severely damaged on the corner of North Rocks Road and Lawndale Avenue in North Rocks at 6.20am on Friday, <strong>June</strong> 10. A male driver was seen leaving the scene. A police dog was called to the scene, however it was unable to track the offender for long. Residents in adjoining streets have been asked to review their CCTV footage between 6.20am and 7am for any suspicious males. Investigations continue. Granville: Appeal to locate man missing since <strong>June</strong> 8 Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Granville. Charbel Taouk, aged 41, was last seen at his home in Granville about 11pm on Wednesday, <strong>June</strong> 8. When he could not be contacted by family, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were contacted who have commenced an investigation into his whereabouts. Police and family hold concerns for Mr Taouk’s welfare as he lives with a number of medical conditions. Mr Taouk is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 170cm tall, large build and full faced beard. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, blue jeans and scarf. Mr Taouk is known to frequent <strong>Parra</strong>matta, Greystanes and Guildford areas. He also uses the rail network. Anyone with information into Mr Taouk’s whereabouts is urged to contact Granville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. <strong>Parra</strong>matta: Local police leading search for missing man <strong>Parra</strong>matta Police are appealing for public assistance to locate Mark Burgess, who has been missing since May 19. The 52-year-old was last seen leaving a premises on Talbot Place, Woolloomooloo. When he failed to contact family or friends, he was reported missing to officers from <strong>Parra</strong>matta Police Area Command who commenced an investigation into Mark’s whereabouts. Family and police hold serious concerns for Mark’s welfare due to him living with a number of health conditions that require medication. Mark is described as being of Caucasian appearance, medium build, 165cm tall, grey hair and grey beard. It is not known what he was last wearing. Anyone with information regarding Mark’s whereabouts is urged to contact <strong>Parra</strong>matta Police Station or Crime Stoppers. Treasurer Matt Kean said the <strong>2022</strong>-23 Budget commitment would improve the lives of tens of thousands of people along the <strong>Parra</strong>matta River. “This pathway will take in some of our most spectacular sights and unlock the incredible lifestyle and accessibility opportunities the route offers for the benefit of locals and visitors,” Mr Kean said. Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport Rob Stokes said the <strong>Parra</strong>matta to Sydney Foreshore Link would be one of Sydney’s longest and most crucial active transport connections, traversing 18 suburbs. “Since 1811 our city’s prosperity has been propelled by road and rail connections between the settlements of Sydney and <strong>Parra</strong>matta. This new connection will allow walking and cycling trips to proliferate, making lives easier, healthier and more enjoyable for locals, commuters and visitors for centuries to come.” Minister for Environment James Griffin said this pathway will enhance Sydney’s stunning natural assets, linking them together for the enjoyment of everyone. “No matter where you live, you should LOCAL NEWS have the opportunity to access, enjoy and benefit from our environment, and this new pathway will be a fantastic addition to the great outdoors for the people of NSW,” Mr Griffin said. Member for Drummoyne John Sidoti said he was delighted to see the funding extended to the second Bay Run around Hen and Chicken Bay. “We know there is strong community support for the second Bay Run between Cabarita Bay and Abbotsford because it will enhance the lives of residents by providing them with access to their beautiful backyard,” Mr Sidoti said. The new funding will facilitate the next stages of the project, including design of the initial project stages identified in the feasibility study, solutions for the remaining inaccessible foreshore sections, and prioritisation of works in consultation with councils. The $60 million funding was announced as part of today’s State Budget, with a large number of commitments revealed prior to the official handing down of the figures. Also included in the Budget is a $30 million anti-street harassment initiative which will include lighting, CCTV and foot traffic upgrades at <strong>Parra</strong>matta Park.
