EJCS Championship-2022

For me personally the EJCS was the most important
tournament that summer, together with the Junior
Grand Slams. I already played well in some of the junior
tournaments leading up to the EJCS and I was number 3
seed but I had never won a big tournament so it was the
highlight of my junior career, also because I beat some
of the top juniors that year including Voltchkov in the
finals, who would win Wimbledon Juniors the year after.
I travelled there with my coach and my friend / doubles
partner Raemon Sluiter. We had won a Junior Grand
Slam in doubles before as well as the European Championships
under 16 so we had high expectations. Unfortunately
we did not play well in doubles and lost early,
but we did win the karaoke contest at the player party :-)
Ich habe grossartige Erinnerungen an
Klosters und die EJCS. Ich habe eine Liste
aufgestellt, welche Orte an denen ich Tennis
gespielt habe, ich wieder besuchen
möchte. Klosters ist auf der Liste, aber
leider habe ich es bis heute noch nicht
geschafft.
Klosters is a fantastic place; I love nature, quiet places
and mountains so my coach and I went on many walks
together and we stayed at a beautiful, small and picturesque
hotel. The venue is also very nice with a beautiful
center court and plenty of grass around the courts to
relax or do a warm up / cooling down while enjoying
the view.
I have great memories of Klosters and the EJCS. I made
a list of a few places where I played tennis and where I
wanted to go back after my tennis career. Klosters was
on the list but unfortunately it has not happened yet.
Für mich persönlich waren die EJCS das wichtigste Turnier
in diesem Sommer, zusammen mit den Junior Grand
Slams. Ich spielte schon sehr gut in einigen der Turniere
auf dem Weg zu den EJCS und war als No. 3 gesetzt, aber
ich hatte zuvor nie ein grösseres Turnier gewonnen. Die
EJCS waren der Höhepunkt meiner Junioren Karriere,
da ich auch eine Reihe von top Junioren schlug, eingeschlossen
Voltchkov im Final, der im Jahr darauf das
Junioren Turnier in Wimbledon gewann.
Ich reiste zusammen mit meinem Coach und meinem
Freund und Doppel Partner Raemon Sluiter. Wir hatten
zusammen ein Junioren Grand Slam im Doppel gewonnen,
wie auch die U16 European Championships und
hatten natürlich grosse Hoffnungen. Leider spielten wir
die Doppel nicht sehr gut, gewannen aber den Karaoke
Wettbewerb an der Players‘ Party.
Klosters ist ein fantastischer Ort; ich liebe die Natur,
stille Orte und die Berge. Mein Coach und ich machten
eine Reihe von Wanderungen und wohnten in einem
kleinen malerischen Hotel. Der Veranstaltungsort ist
ebenfalls sehr schön, mit einem angenehmen Center
Court, umrahmt von Rasen und viel Platz für Warm up
oder Cool down und einer wunderbaren Aussicht.
