UCAR TM <strong>Thickener</strong> D-<strong>31</strong><br />

Alkali Soluble Arylic <strong>Thickener</strong><br />

UCAR <strong>Thickener</strong> D-<strong>31</strong> is an alkali-soluble, acrylic thickener. It is supplied as a low<br />

viscosity, low pH latex emulsion. Raising the pH causes the polymer to solubilize and<br />

the resultant solutions have high viscosity. The solution viscosity is controlled by the<br />

crosslinked, high molecular weight polymer.<br />

UCAR <strong>Thickener</strong> D-<strong>31</strong> can be used in many kinds of aqueous paints and<br />

adhesives. It is compatible with most of the common latex polymers, surfactants and<br />

dispersants. The pH of the formulated product must be controlled to obtain good<br />

performance and reproducible viscosity.<br />
