Ranger ticket prices<br />

The <strong>2022</strong>-23 Hamilton Townshi<br />

Rangers and Mid-State League ticket<br />

prices are - high school contests: $7 for<br />

adults and students; middle school contests:<br />

$5 for adults and students. Senior<br />

citizens will be admitted free of charge at<br />

home events. Home event tickets will be<br />

sold through the link above. No cash tickets<br />

will be sold. Away games may also only<br />

offer online ticket sales, depending on the<br />

opponent and their ticket policy. Ticket<br />

prices for OHSAA Tournament contests<br />

will be the ticket rate set by the OHSAA<br />

and the Central District Athletic Board.<br />

Blood drive<br />

Did you know about 62 percent of the<br />

U.S. population is eligible to give blood,<br />

but, only about 3 percent does?<br />

By making an appointment to help save<br />

lives with the American Red Cross in<br />

<strong>August</strong>, donors can pump up the blood supply<br />

and keep it from falling to shortage levels.<br />

Platelet donors are especially needed<br />

now.<br />

As a thank-you, all who come to give<br />

Aug. 1-31 will be automatically entered for<br />

a chance to win gas for a year, a $6,000<br />

value. There will be three lucky winners.<br />

Everyone who comes to give blood or<br />

platelets in <strong>August</strong> will also receive a $10<br />

e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Donors<br />

can schedule an appointment to give using<br />

the Red Cross Blood Donor app, by visiting<br />

RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-<br />

RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).<br />

The next local blood drive will be in<br />

Groveport on Aug. 29 from 1-7 p.m. at St<br />

Mary’s Church Groveport, 5684 Groveport<br />

Road.<br />

9/11 remembrance<br />

A remembrance ceremony for 9/11 will<br />

be held Sept. 11 at 1 pm. The program will<br />

be held at Motts Military Museum at 5075<br />

S Hamilton Road in Groveport. More information<br />

will be available soon.<br />

Library School Help Centers<br />

The Columbus Metropolitan Library’s<br />

School Help Centers for grades K-12 open<br />

Aug. 22 with staff and volunteers are ready<br />

to help. These after-school spaces give your<br />

students access to technology, resources<br />

and the library’s catalog of books and<br />

materials.<br />

Lockbourne Village Council meets the<br />

second and fourth Mondays of each month<br />

Obetz Farmer’s Market<br />

The Obetz Farmers’ Market is held on<br />

the first Wednesday of the month from 4-7<br />

p.m. through September in downtown<br />

Obetz (across from 4256 Groveport Road,<br />

Obetz). It offers a selection of baked goods,<br />

produce, meats, eggs, and crafts.<br />

Emergency services<br />

Emergency medical, fire, and rescue services<br />

in the Obetz area are provided by either<br />

the Hamilton Township Fire Department or<br />

Madison Township Fire Department depending<br />

on your location. For non-emergencies,<br />

call the Hamilton Township Fire<br />

Department at (614) 491-1013. The Madison<br />

Township Fire Department may be reached<br />

at (614) 837-7883.<br />

Splash Pad<br />

The Splash Pad in Obetz will operate<br />

until Sept. 5. Use of the facility is free and it<br />

is open to residents and non-residents.<br />

Hours are Monday - Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.<br />

According to the city of Obetz, “The<br />

Splash Pad is intended to be used by individuals<br />

12 years and under. Individuals<br />

under the age of 12 must be accompanied<br />

by someone who is 16 years of age or older.<br />

Individuals that are 13 years of age or<br />

older may enter the Splash Pad if supervising<br />

children 6 years of age and under or an<br />

individual with special needs.”<br />

The Lancaster Park shelter house is<br />

available for all Splash Pad visitors. It is<br />

not available for rentals.<br />
