One such event was the First World War, considered by many to be a<br />
pivotal period in modern history. Due to this, I decided to start with<br />
World War 1. I began to research exactly how it started so that I could<br />
prevent it. I learned that on the 28th of June 1914, Archduke Franz<br />
Ferdinand, who was heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, was<br />
assassinated. This was the catalyst for the start of the war. I knew<br />
immediately what I had to do in order to prevent the war. I readied<br />
myself, and when I was ready, a green light shone from my hand and<br />
I travelled back in time.<br />
It was to be a quick visit – in and out. If someone saw me<br />
time travel it could cause major problems for me. I heard a pop and<br />
then I was in Sarajevo, Bosnia. The assassin was right in front of me.<br />
His name was Gavrilo Princip. He was only 19 years old. I spotted the<br />
gun in his hand, and I lunged for it. He turned towards me at the last<br />
minute and I saw the shock in his eyes. I crashed into him and we<br />
rolled along the ground. He readied his gun and pulled the trigger.<br />
There was a loud bang. I heard the bullet whizz past me. I grabbed<br />
onto the gun with both hands and tried to pull it away from him, but<br />
it wouldn’t budge. I’ve been here too long, I thought. I need to go.<br />
Someone’s going to see me.<br />
I decided then that I had to take violent measures. “I’m<br />
sorry,” I said, and I punched him square in the face. He jerked back<br />
