O’Connell Street after Daniel O’Connell, who has argued for Catholic<br />
equality in Ireland. Anyway, I’d better not get into that.<br />
Through my knowledge of history I knew the schedule of that<br />
day off by heart. I rushed to my first location. And then my second,<br />
and the third. I was already saving people. It felt good to give people<br />
a future. The next location I had to get to was St. Stephen’s Green. I<br />
arrived in a sweat. I was exhausted. I have to keep going, I thought.<br />
And that was when I was shot. I don’t know who it was or where<br />
they were. I stumbled backwards into a dank alleyway. A searing hot<br />
pain started in my leg. I clutched the wound, wincing. I cursed under<br />
my breath. This would affect my schedule. Actually, this could cause<br />
my mission here to fail. Although I had saved some lives, I hadn’t<br />
saved all of them. I had set my mind on fixing every single thing in<br />
the past. I moved my leg and the pain flared up and I cried out. If I<br />
could barely move my leg, then my mission is doomed. I started to<br />
cry – I don’t know why. I just did. And as I did, I thought about all of<br />
the families that would lose loved ones, and how their futures would<br />
be affected. Suddenly, a thought occurred to me. What if my actions<br />
were having negative consequences? What if saving these people’s<br />
lives was actually dooming others? I pondered this.<br />
And then I came to a conclusion. Saving these people could<br />
affect the future of Ireland, even the future of the world! I was<br />
