I think a few of my past employers probably felt this way about me. I felt the same way about some
of them after getting fired a few times, taking a few bullets as they say in corporate America.
Employment Considerations
• Do you have the skills needed - If you are applying to be an airline pilot you will
need a pilots license.
• Opportunities - If you are thinking about being employed as a professional basketball
player you need to know that less than 1100 people at any one time in the World
make their living shooting a basketball – I just guessed that number…
• What does it Pay – If your single and your rent is $1500 a month and your total living
expenses are $3000 a month you will need a job that pays at least $3000 a month or
$17 dollars an hour based on working 40 hours a week for 4.33 weeks. Either work full
time or enough part time jobs to make ends meet…
• Emotionally Satisfying – It’s all about passion. If you love animals and are a zoo
keeper that works. If you are an outdoors person that likes to be out and about every
day and you work in a cubicle indoors for 8-10 hours a day you may burn out.
• You have to like it - I loved sports at an early age but did not follow my passion
which caused my career to go a bit sideways. Find something you enjoy or are passionate
about. That could be anything from sweeping floors to directing Movies or chasing
bad guys. Whatever you choose pursue that passion and you will be better off in your
working life for it.
