Sustainability that matters
«In a globalized economy which R&M is actively shaping in the information
and communication industry, our entrepreneurial
activities have far-reaching ecological and social consequences.
Stable communication channels help society and the economy to work
together effectively for a future-proof world. Promising technologies such
as fiber optics offer unbeatable advantages on the path to decarbonization.
Against this backdrop, we are stepping up the operational implementation
of our sustainability goals. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development forms the basis for our sustainability work.»
Michel Riva, CEO
Stable connectivity infrastructures serve society
• High-performance connections are the basis for a modern communication
society. Reliable communication infrastructures connect cultures, and,
among other things, help people have access to better education and
good medical treatment.
• They help to use energy more efficiently and protect our climate and
natural resources. ALL-IP building automation, for example, offers
opportunities to reduce greenhouse gases and save energy.
Working on the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow and
continuously improving connectivity worldwide is what motivates
us every day.
Sustainability strategy
R&M conducts its business on the basis of the ethical
values of an independent Swiss family business. For us,
a sustainable corporate strategy means being
successful across the entire «ecosystem.» This means
creating a balance between economic, ecological, social
and ethical factors through long-term sustainable
decision-making.
With our sustainability strategy and the Roadmap 2030,
we are synchronizing our measures to contribute to the
17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United
Nations (UN). We are committed to the Ten Principles of
the UN Global Compact for Sustainable Companies.
The main challenge for the coming decades will be to
protect the climate. Our international plants should be
CO 2 neutral by 2050 at the latest.
For the phase up to 2030, we have drawn up a catalog
of measures and objectives covering the following four
strategic areas of action:
Low environmental
and climate impact
Employees, social
commitment
Strong business
ethics
Sustainable supply
chain
doing so, R&M affirms its commitment to behave in an ethical, social and
ecological manner:
Development Goals (mission statement)
• UN Global Compact with 10 Principles for
