Head of School<br />
Guidance Counsellor<br />
(Full-time, permanent position)<br />
We seek a strongly relational, down-to-earth,<br />
highly organised and culturally responsive<br />
registered guidance counsellor to work alongside<br />
our learners, staff and broader community in our<br />
rapidly growing school.<br />
While your core role is to offer counselling<br />
services to learners, staff and whānau as<br />
required, our counselling team will work<br />
collaboratively to ensure school-wide Hauora<br />
(wellbeing), and care systems evolve, so we<br />
continue to meet the needs of our school<br />
community. Working collaboratively with the<br />
staff, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe<br />
and inclusive climate in the College, free of<br />
intolerance, harassment and bullying.<br />
The successful applicant will be responsible<br />
for leading the counselling service at the<br />
College within the framework of its pastoral<br />
care strategy, managing the counselling team,<br />
providing practical and professional counselling<br />
to students, parents and staff, and training and<br />
equipping teachers with skills for effective<br />
pastoral care.<br />
Remuneration will be dependent upon the<br />
qualifications and experience of the successful<br />
applicant.<br />
Requirements:<br />
• A strong sense of calling and willingness to<br />
fully commit to the mission, vision and values<br />
of Rolleston College<br />
• Relevant recent experience in a school<br />
counselling leadership role<br />
• Appropriate qualifications/degree in the field<br />
of Counselling, Social Work or Psychology<br />
• Member of NZ Association for Counsellors<br />
(NZAC) or Member of NZ Association for<br />
Christian Counsellors (NZACC) or equivalent<br />
professional association<br />
• A registered teacher with a current practising<br />
certificate is desirable but not essential.<br />
This role is a full-time, permanent position.<br />
