Got some spare tucker? Theannual<br />

Toot for Tuckerappeal is happening<br />

on Monday evening, and organisers<br />

are hoping for your help.<br />

The nationwide initiative works to<br />

restockcommunity foodbankswith<br />

non­perishable food and grocery<br />

goods, enabling foodbanks to<br />

continue to support individualsand<br />

families in need.<br />

Organiserssaid it wasparticularly<br />

importanttohave good stocks going<br />

into the Christmas season.<br />

unopened.<br />

In addition to food, thingslike<br />

women’ssanitaryproducts,pet<br />

food, toiletries, andother<br />

householditems are alsowelcomed.<br />

be donated, and hopedtosee the<br />

Toot for Tucker branded bags<br />

were delivered to letterboxes last<br />

week, andpeople areasked to put<br />

theirdonated itemsinto the bags<br />

andleave them at their gateor<br />

driveway end on Monday after5pm.<br />

Volunteerswilldrivearound<br />

tooting to let peopleorhouseholds<br />

know they arecomingand collect<br />

thebagsoffood.<br />

Thedonated groceries will be<br />

sorted and distributed to<br />

Presbyterian Support, Salvation<br />

Army and St VincentdePaulto<br />

replenishtheir foodbanks.<br />

‘‘It’s alovely community event<br />

that Property Brokers areproud to<br />

be involved with,’’Karen said.<br />

Shesaidanyonewho missed<br />

receiving abagcan puttheir<br />

donated groceries into any bagor<br />

box, whichcan then be leftina<br />

visibleplace for volunteers to<br />

collect.<br />

Collectorswillmaketwo trips<br />

down each street, tooting their<br />

horns each timetoalert people they<br />

arecomingand to givepeoplean<br />

opportunity to put food outshould<br />

they forget thefirsttime.<br />

Anyone interested in<br />

volunteering as acollector is<br />

welcome.<br />

headquartersand safety debrief,<br />

held at the<strong>Ashburton</strong> Showgrounds<br />

on Monday from 5pm,accessed from<br />

gate five on Seafield Road,opposite<br />
