BIBLE AND THE
ANCIENT NEAR EAST

MA | 2-Year
This MA program enables students to delve into the literature,
history, cultures and languages of the Ancient Near East through
critical examination of Biblical texts, intensive study of Biblical
Hebrew and Akkadian, and Biblical archaeology courses and
study tours. In addition, students have the option to study modern
Hebrew from beginner through advanced levels. This program is
geared towards students with a background in the field who wish
to pursue further academic studies.

This interdisciplinary program is ideal for those who wish
to gain a better understanding of the historical, political,
religious and cultural developments in the Middle East from
the emergence of Islam to present day. Students will receive
a thorough grounding in Literary Arabic, amidst the backdrop
of a city in which 35% of the local population are native
Arabic speakers.
