As a global leader in computational neuroscience, HUJI’s
Center for Brain Sciences offers students a PhD program in
computation and information processing, which provides
them with the theoretical and experimental tools required to
achieve true interdisciplinary research capabilities. Students
gain the skills to investigate how the nervous system efficiently
performs a wide variety of functions, including perception and
action, learning and memory, thought and creativity.

This program combines research and studies in medical
and life sciences with an emphasis on understanding the
functioning of the human body in situations of health and
disease. Students are offered five sub-teaching tracks:
biochemistry, metabolism and endocrinology; cellular biology,
immunology and cancer research; human genetics (and
genetic counseling); microbiology and neurobiology.
