The Institute of Life Science boasts a vast interdisciplinary
curriculum, offering students broad exposure to the different
processes and mechanisms of the animal and plant worlds.
Students choose from fields such as ecology, evolution and
behavior, genetics, plant sciences, structural and molecular
biochemistry, and much more.

CHEMISTRY
Institute of Chemistry
Students in the MSc in Chemistry program conduct research
in a field of their choice through a novel project supervised by
a faculty member of the Institute of Chemistry. Moreover, they
develop advanced scientific and technological skillsets, while
immersed in a rich teaching and research environment that
is known for producing patents, developing new products and
processes, and establishing start-up companies. Graduates
of the program assume leading roles in chemical and related
industries, hi-tech, healthcare, educational institutions and
public services.

Direct PhD

The rapidly growing field of bioengineering provides a new level of
understanding of biological systems, ranging from the molecular
scale to entire organisms, by applying engineering-based analytical
and experimental approaches. MSc and direct PhD programs in
Bioengineering are offered, withresearch projects in areas such
as nanotechnology-based diagnostics, advanced computational
models, mechanobiology and cell mechanics, insect flight and
micro-robotic flight control, and microchip alternatives for animal
testing. In addition, the Center offers advanced training programs
in innovation in the biomedical fields. The 1-year BioDesign Medical
Innovation program is taught by academic and industrial experts.
Students gain academic training and practical tools to become
successful entrepreneurs, and each year a number of student
projects develop into actual products and spin-off companies.
