1. Rehearsal
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
(a) Rehearsal will be held on the date and time stated in the graduate’s invitation letter.
(b) All graduating students are invited to attend the rehearsal.
(c) Graduates are required to dress smartly and appropriately for the ceremony. Male
graduates must have short hair.
(d) Graduates are not permitted to wear jeans, slippers and t-shirts during the rehearsal.
(e) Graduates must inform their parents/guests to be smartly and neatly dressed for the
formal ceremony.
2. Convocation Ceremony or Conferral of UTM Degree/Diploma
(a) The ceremony will be held on the date and time as stated in the graduate’s invitation
letter.
(b) Registration for Convocation
i) Venue:
Corridor, Level 1, Students’ Association Building, UTM Johor Bahru, Johor
according to the date, time and program listed in Table of The Awarding Session.
ii) Required Information:
� Graduate’s Invitation Letter
� Identity Card/MyKad/Graduate’s Passport
iii) Conditions for Registration:
Graduates without the following documents such as invitation letter/identity
card/MyKad/passport will not be allowed to attend the ceremony.
(c) University reserves the rights to bar a graduate from participating in the ceremony if
he/she has not registered for the convocation ceremony.
(d) You must bring the invitation letter when you collect the convocation dress and
register for the convocation as this will facilitate the administrative procedure.
(e) The Slide Card that has the number/arrangement of rows will be given to each
graduate during registration to guide graduates according to the number given during the
procession. Please follow the instructions given by the officer-in-charge.
(f) Graduates will assemble and proceed from the pathway between Students’ Association
Building (SUB) and the Administration Building according to the program and the
number given.
(g) Graduates who are late and and not dressed appropriately according to the dress
code for the convocation ceremony as listed in the Table of The Awarding Session will
not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
(h) Graduates are reminded not to be noisy during the convocation ceremony as a sign of
respect.
(i) Graduates are advised not to bring the following personal items such as bag, camera,
handphone, pager etc. into the Sultan Iskandar Hall, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia,
Johor Bahru, Johor.
(j) Graduates with special needs (pregnant, disabled or injured) requiring equipment such
as a wheelchair or an assistant need to inform the university when handing in the
confirmation of attendance or inform the officer on duty during the rehearsal.
(k) Graduates are not permitted to leave the hall during the ceremony.
(l) UNIVERSITY AUTHORITY: Graduates must abide by the procdures and conditions
