The first day of the 40th edition of SITL was filled with stimulating highlights and activities, confirming that the show remains the must-attend event in transport and logistics. It is here that the future of our sectors is decided, with one major challenge: decarbonisation. This unavoidable theme has been a part of the debate since the opening conference, which was a great success. Two ministers, Clément Beaune and Roland Lescure, respectively in charge of Transport and Industry, accepted our invitation. They took advantage of their visit to make important announcements and receive a report on sustainable urban logistics. The day continued at the stands of our many exhibitors and around a rich programme of conferences, before ending in style with the 40± anniversary party. Here, the strong presence of our partners underlined the extent to which SITL is dynamic and never ceases to reinvent itself. Today's festivities will continue with an equally busy and exciting programme. I invite you, as of 11.15am, to head to the Main Stage where the highly anticipated Start-Up Contest final will take place. Seven finalists will present their polished pitches in a bid to seduce the jury. Another highlight at 4.15pm is the 23rd Innovation Awards Ceremony, with some 50 solutions submitted. Finally, don't miss the main theme of this day of conferences, dedicated to Maritime Day, as well as an exciting session about the role of women in logistics. Take full advantage of this second day which, I am sure, will not fail to surprise and inspire you.
