Oakland’s town manager effective
April 1. The Oakland Town
Commission named Jack Butler,
previously the assistant town manager,
interim town manager effective
April 2 while the commission searches
for a permanent replacement.

Vierge (virgin), a new book by
Ocoee resident Gerlande Louis
Jeune, was released by Dorrance
Publishing Co. Inc. The book of poetry
is a meditation of moments encapsulated
through pictures and words.
Gerlande is a Haitian American
poet, artist, designer, photographer
and author. She was born in Haiti
and moved to America at the age of
4. She has a long-standing love of
art in all forms and considers herself
