Little Otter

cleans up

C. Gobbetti, D. Nikolova

Little otter never washes. Who ever heard of an otter who won’t

go near water? Little otter needs to learn that the bathroom is

fun. This sweet rhyming story uses surprising twists to teach

children the basics of good hygiene and the importance of

keeping clean.

This illustrated book gently and playfully guides children as

they transition toward independence.

‘You’re quite dirty, little otter.

Shall we fill the tub with water?

My little sweetheart, do the math.

I think it’s time to run a BATH.’

SOAP

Mum asked, ‘What can that smell be?’

and placed paw over nose daintily.

Covered in mud from head to toe,

little otter said, ‘I don’t know.’

NOTHING

CLEANS BETTER!

‘A BATH I simply do not need.’

Little otter ran off at top speed.

Down the hall and out the door

before mother otter could say more.

As little otter passed right by,

someone said, ‘You need a wash and dry.’

The speaker was a young DONKEY,

relaxing in the shade of a tree.

‘I don’t want a wash and dry.

Who likes to be wet? Not I!’

Little otter paid the donkey no mind,

and left, trailing a stench behind.
