Mea culpa, which means "through my fault" in Latin, comes from a prayer of confession in<br />
the Catholic Church. Said by itself, it's an exclamation of apology or remorse that is used to<br />
mean "It was my fault" or "I apologize."<br />
Although I am not Catholic, I grew up in a Catholic school where I learned from an early age<br />
what it was like to feel guilty about my sexual orientation. These photos represent the guilt<br />
of the desire of the flesh, in this case the carnal desire for the same sex so persecuted by the<br />
Catholic religion.<br />
