YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NAPE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ACTIVITIES FROM JANUARY - APRIL 2023 JANUARY, 2023. On January 9th, 2023, Elections were held for positions in the YP Executive Committee. The following members emerged winners to pilot the affairs of the Association for 2023 to 2024. THE NAPE YP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS 23/24 1. Flora Anusiobi : NAPE YP Lead 2. NAPE YP CHARITY EVENT (18TH FEB, 2023) NAPE YP Lead, Flora Anusiobi (Left) and NAPE YP Event Manager, Bethel Akuchie (right) with children from the Heart of Gold Children Hospice. On Saturday 18th of February, 2023, the NAPE YP Charity event was held at Hearts of Gold Children Hospice, Surulere, Lagos where Young Professionals donated to children in need. NAPENEWS JUNE 2023 30
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS 2. TECHNICAL SERIES (24TH FEB, 2023) MARCH, 2023 1. SOCIAL MENTORS HANGOUT, LAGOS (March 5th, 2023) The first edition of the NAPE-YP Mentors Social Hangout Series held on Sunday, 5th March 2023 at MICASA @36 Awudu Ekpekha Boulevard Street, off Admiralty way Lekki, Lagos. The session started at about 3.15pm with an introduction of all present and was anchored by the Chair, T e c h n i c a l c o m m i t t e e ; S e u n Ogundipe. Then the YP lead, Flora Anusiobi gave an opening remark and introduced the Guest Mentor Speaker, Mr. Elliot Ibie FNAPE, the NAPE President. The Guest speaker gave an overview of his background, education, career and family. In his s p e e c h , h e e n c o u r a g e d collaboration between YPs and the NAPE National body. He also mentioned how the industry had evolved over the past 30 years and those thriving are those ready to evolve. March 5th, 2023, the first edition of the Social Mentors Hangout for the year 2023 was held in Lagos with NAPE President, Mr, Elliot Ibie, FNAPE. 2. He also suggested a Career Fair and CV Review among other things. 3. He also asked the YPs to reach out to him, if they had any idea or ways to help grow the community. 4. He also encouraged the YPs to volunteer to serve, not just in YPs but also at the National As part of the YP monthly Technical Series, a webinar was held on 24th of February, 2023 on Seismic Geomorphological Approach to Facies Analysis: Key Strategy for Maximizing Deepwater Exploration and Production. The Instructor was Olumide Odumade and Young Professionals were well represented. APRIL, 2023 1. MENTAL HEALTH AND YOUR CAREER (April 15th, 2023) Several questions were asked after his speech. One of which was ''how one can grow his/her career without losing interest?''. He responded by encouraging everyone to know what they want, are passionate about and continue to improve on their skill(s). It was then Games time! We had a game of scrabble between two teams; Team Yellow and Team Blue. Was a game where each team had to form geological words with the available letters. It was an interesting time as both teams had to learn team work while having fun. Body by volunteering in different committees. The NAPE President, also promised to sponsor Five (5) YPs to the upcoming NAPE YP Data Analytics Bootcamp. The NAPE YP Executive Committee presented a Gift to the NAPE President for hosting the NAPE YP Community. The session ended with group photograph with the Guest speaker and everyone present. The session was also coordinated by the NAPE- YP Events manager, Bethel Akuchie. Everyone had something to eat and the chat with the Guest speaker continued. Several comments and suggestions were shared. Mr. Ibie in his response iterated the following. 1. The need for a collaboration with the National body and NAPE YP. Mental Health and Your Career was anchored by Patience Bibowei Timiyo, a business management consultant and a certified professional accountant with over 20+ years of dynamic experience.
