Book Launch: Letters to My City by Mike Sonksen<br />

Over decades, Mike Sonksen has paid tribute to the Southl<strong>and</strong>’s people, topographies, cultures, <strong>and</strong> histories.<br />

His latest collection of poems <strong>and</strong> essays, Letters to My City, continues that legacy, demonstrating once again<br />

the poet’s keen eye for beauty—<strong>and</strong> struggle—in the place we call home. Sonksen will be joined by Allan Aquino,<br />

professor of Asian American Studies at CSU Northridge, for a discussion of the book’s topics <strong>and</strong> themes.<br />

Registration required — This class will cover the basics<br />

of creating <strong>and</strong> sending emails. Topics covered include:<br />

free email services, email apps, attaching <strong>and</strong> sending<br />

a document through email, <strong>and</strong> avoiding email scams.<br />

Led by professional writers, our monthly, 90-minute workshops provide unique opportunities for you to<br />

develop your craft <strong>and</strong> make connections with other local creatives. Everyone is welcome—no experience necessary.<br />

Job Connect Plus is a new program to help job seekers, those in a<br />

career transition, or individuals needing to build up their work skills.<br />

Coming this fall, the 12-week program will pair participants with<br />

one-on-one assistance, coaching, <strong>and</strong> the extra support they need<br />

to achieve their career-related goals.<br />
