Old Salopian Football
Another season in the Arthurian League has passed. Our
incomparably named 4G pitch in London ‘King’s
House’ has been well-trodden and, as always, we must
first give thanks to our loyal fans around the globe.
To summarise the season in terms of numbers: 32 league
matches were played across both our teams, including an
Arthur Dunn Cup quarter-final against Carthusians, who
narrowly lost in the final to Reptonians on penalties, and a
revitalised Veterans squad pushing for silverware. In terms of
league positions, we ended in mid-table (8th and 4th) for our
1st XI and 2nd XI respectively. The 2nd XI were unlucky with
their final position, after a close promotion charge all season
long. A shout-out to Harry Gregson (Rb 2012-15). who
netted top goal-scorer award in the division for the 2nd XI.
After the success that the School have shown this season,
we are excited to welcome the next crop of players. Like
Man United’s class of ‘92, this could be the start of something
special in the coming years.
Looking on to preparation for next season, training starts
from mid-July and several pre-season fixtures in London are
lined up in Augus.
Our tour this year sees 22 fine gentlemen travel to Prague,
where we will play two fixtures against Czech opposition whilst
embracing the local culture.

London, with training midweek in Marylebone. We welcome
all levels of ability and would love to see the Club continue
to flourish and push for silverware next season.

Old Salopian Rugby
The OS Maps had a quiet off-season in the run up to what
should be a busy summer. The highlight has been the
Christmas AGM and social, which was hosted at School on
3rd December. This was a great opportunity to welcome
the newest cohort of Old Salopians to our ranks and discuss
future plans for the Club over lunch in Kingsland House.
An integrated training session with the current school 1st XV
allowed us to strengthen our links with the players, whilst
also giving many members of the Club a reality check on
their fitness!
We look forward to playing in two new tournaments this
summer, Cheltenham 7s and the Jack Fishwick 7s in London,
as we look to continue our two-year streak of adding
silverware to the cabinet. If you are interested in joining OS
