The month of September marks the change from Summer to Autumn, and in our September edition magazine we have our usual blend of local news stories, What's On events, local history and heritage features, recipes from our super chef Simon Smith, updates form our local council representatives and competitions. The right Council…<br />

<strong>Lichfield</strong> City Council is the ‘parish’<br />

authority for the City and is the smallest of the<br />

three councils serv<strong>in</strong>g the City area. With<strong>in</strong> the<br />

City we deal with local matters such as the<br />

markets, ma<strong>in</strong>tenance of open spaces and<br />

churchyards, civic and mayoral events, the<br />

Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum and public<br />

lett<strong>in</strong>gs of the Guildhall.<br />

is the larger local authority deal<strong>in</strong>g with such<br />

matters as plann<strong>in</strong>g, environmental health,<br />

refuse collection, hous<strong>in</strong>g, car park<strong>in</strong>g, arts and<br />

Public<br />

Participation<br />

City Council meet<strong>in</strong>gs are held <strong>in</strong> the Guildhall, Bore Street. Dates and times of meet<strong>in</strong>gs can be found<br />

on the noticeboard outside the Guildhall, and on the City Council's website at www.lichfield.gov.uk.<br />

Meet<strong>in</strong>gs are open to the public, with public participation sessions held at full Council. Advance notice<br />

needs to be given to the Council of the subject matter of each<br />

question, and any person wish<strong>in</strong>g to speak must contact the<br />

Council Offices at Donegal House, Bore Street (next to the<br />

Guildhall) before NOON on the day of the meet<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
