Bahra<strong>in</strong>i-American artist whose unique<br />
vision transcends borders and delves<br />
<strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> essence of time and place. With a<br />
captivat<strong>in</strong>g blend of text, image, found objects,<br />
and cast creations, Alzayani’s artistic<br />
practice is a mesmeriz<strong>in</strong>g journey through<br />
<strong>the</strong> realms of research-driven documentation<br />
and collective experiences.<br />
Born <strong>in</strong> 1991 <strong>in</strong> Manama, Bahra<strong>in</strong>, Nasser<br />
Alzayani now calls Abu Dhabi his home and<br />
creative haven. His artwork weaves toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>the</strong>mes of factual and fictional archaeology,<br />
seek<strong>in</strong>g to uncover alternative narratives that<br />
challenge our understand<strong>in</strong>g of collective<br />
history.<br />
One of <strong>the</strong> highlights of Alzayani’s artistic<br />
journey is his participation <strong>in</strong> numerous<br />
group exhibitions, showcas<strong>in</strong>g his boundless<br />
talent to <strong>the</strong> world. In 2020, his work<br />
was featured <strong>in</strong> “Kiss<strong>in</strong>g Through A Curta<strong>in</strong>”<br />
at MASS MoCA <strong>in</strong> North Adams, USA, and<br />
“The Youth Takeover” at Jameel Art Centre<br />
<strong>in</strong> Dubai, UAE. His artistic prowess was also<br />
displayed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> “Glass Triennial” at <strong>the</strong> Sol<br />
Koffler Gallery <strong>in</strong> Providence, USA, and <strong>the</strong><br />
“_____scapes” exhibition at Gelman Gallery,<br />
Providence, USA, both <strong>in</strong> 2019. In 2017,<br />
“Bayn” at Warehouse421 <strong>in</strong> Abu Dhabi, UAE,<br />
and <strong>in</strong> 2016, “Water<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> distant, desert<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>the</strong> near” at Al Riwaq <strong>in</strong> Bahra<strong>in</strong>, were fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />
milestones <strong>in</strong> his flourish<strong>in</strong>g career.<br />
Recognized for his exceptional talent, Alzayani<br />
has been <strong>the</strong> recipient of esteemed<br />
residencies, fur<strong>the</strong>r enrich<strong>in</strong>g his artistic<br />
journey. In 2017, he was bestowed with <strong>the</strong><br />
Fundación Casa Wabi x ArtReview Residency,<br />
followed by <strong>the</strong> Villa Lena Foundation<br />
Residency <strong>in</strong> 2018. Currently, he is an artist<br />
<strong>in</strong> residence at <strong>the</strong> Cultural Foundation <strong>in</strong><br />
Abu Dhabi, embrac<strong>in</strong>g new <strong>in</strong>spirations and<br />
