CHAIRMANS NOTE
I am delighted to welcome you all to our 2023
Templeogue Synge Street Mini All Ireland.
Once again, this is one of the highlights of our
club calendar and a great opportunity for us
to showcase the fantastic talent of all our
boys and girls. The Annual Mini All Ireland
brings the whole club together and builds
great excitement among all the boys and
girls.
This week we will have close to 750 children
from the club take part in the Mini-All Ireland
tournament in the VEC. This is a new record
participation level and to see the enthusiasm,
fun and in no small way the skill of these kids
shows the future is bright for many years to
come. I would like to thank all the committee
involved in the organisation of this
tournament. It has been a massive effort to
make this happen and run smoothly and I
would also like to thank the wives, husbands,
partners and family that afforded them the
time to make it happen.
II would also like to thank our three sponsors
Capital Credit Union, The Two Sisters and
Parts for Cars for their very kind sponsorship
of the event. All three are new sponsors this
year and their support is very much
appreciated, and we look forward to working
together for many years to come.
There have been great strides taken again in
our juvenile section under the stewardship of
Kevin O Donovan and Kate Timmons. Our
Academies in both Bushy Park and Dolphin
Park are both thriving and Saturday mornings
in both locations buzz with the excitement of
hundreds of budding footballers getting their
first taste of football. We have large numbers
in all our underage teams in both boys and
girls and are competing with the top clubs in
the county.
Our Adult teams are also performing very
well. Our adult ladies section fielding three
teams and at the time of writing moving well
in Championship competition. Our men’s
section is fielding four teams at Senior,
Intermediate and junior levels, a great level
for the club, but will be increasing soon again,
possibly in 2024. Focusing on the positive
results, League promotion achieved in the 3 rd
team and Quarter finals places await. Keep an
eye on our website, Twitter, Instagram and
Facebook for fixtures for both Ladies and
Mens. We welcome all to come out to support
the teams and use it as an opportunity to
show our younger players the thrills and
spills of adult football and meet some of our
county players up close. Seeing is believing
and every young footballer needs somebody
to look up to. In our underage girls sections,
an enormous achievement by our u15 girls to
win Dublin and Leinster Feile competitions. A
smashing team that is smashing records over
the last few years. Long may that continue.
Congratulations to both coaches and players.
Finally I would like to thank Niall Scully,
Lorcan O’Dell and Killian O’Gara for their
efforts with the Dubs Mens senior team this
year. The sweetest of all the more recent All
Ireland victories in my opinion. Enormous
personal effort and sacrifice goes into
preparation for inter county football and I
would like to thank Niall, Lorcan and Killian
for how they represented Templeogue Synge
Street GAA Club proudly while playing for
Dublin. I have no doubt we are watching some
of the Dubs stars of the future in our Mini All
Ireland this week.
