Day 3: Amman
Morning at leisure. Afternoon city tour
including the Jordan Museum, where exhibits
include the ‘Ain Ghazal statues, some of the
oldest known human sculptures. This evening
enjoy a traditional Jordanian meal with a local

Day 4: Madaba • Mount Nebo • Shobak • Petra
Travel along the King’s Highway, stopping
en route at Madaba, Mount Nebo and the
crusader castle at Shobak before arriving at
Petra. Lunch will be taken in a converted house
near Madaba. Stay 2 nights at Mövenpick
Resort Petra. Optional evening visit to Petra by
candlelight. (B, L)
Day 5: Petra
Enjoy a guided tour of Petra, the unique
ancient Nabataean city carved into the red
sandstone cliffs of southern Jordan. (B)
Day 6: Dead Sea
Morning at leisure or optional 4x4 excursion
into the desert of Wadi Rum (payable locally).
Transfer to the Dead Sea this afternoon and
stay 2 nights at Mövenpick Resort & Spa

Day 7: Dead Sea
Day at leisure. Optional excursion to the
baptism site at Bethany, where it is believed
John the Baptist baptised Jesus. (B)
Day 8: Jericho • Jerusalem
Drive to the Allenby Bridge and cross the
border into Israel. Continue to Jerusalem,
stopping en route for a tour at Jericho, thought
to be the oldest city in the world. Stay 3 nights
at the Harmony Hotel. (B)
Day 9: Jerusalem • Bethlehem
This morning, visit Bethlehem, known as
the site of the nativity. Your visit here will
include the Church of the Nativity and
Manger Square. (B)
Day 1: Fly to Amman
Fly from London (regional connections
available) to Amman, Jordan, with British
Airways. Transfer to the Intercontinental
Amman for 3 nights. Welcome dinner to meet
your group and tour manager. (D)
Day 2: Amman • Umm Qais • Jerash
This morning travel to Umm Qais to see the
ruins of the Decapolis city of Gadara, set in the
hills above the Jordan Valley. Continue to Jerash
for a lunch cooked by women from a local
village. Tour the ruins of the ancient Roman
Day 10: Jerusalem
This morning take a half-day tour of the Old
City of Jerusalem to see the Wailing Wall, the
Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the room of
the Last Supper. Optional visit to Masada, King
Herod’s rock fortress (must be pre-booked -
from £245pp). Enjoy a farewell drink. (B)
Day 11: Tel Aviv • Fly to London
Travel to Tel Aviv and visit Jaffa, one of the
world’s oldest ports. Later, transfer to the
airport and fly from Tel Aviv to London with
British Airways. (B)
