“The French-themed foods and<br />
drinks went down well too. There are no<br />
complaints from us,” said Dawkins.<br />
“It was nice to see everyone enjoying<br />
themselves and the weather stayed fine.”<br />
The festival is held every two years and<br />
celebrates Akaroa’s culture and heritage<br />
as New Zealand’s only French settlement.<br />
“We’re going to have a debrief shortly, and<br />
begin to get ready for the next festival in<br />
two years,” said Dawkins.<br />
“I hope I’ll be organising the next one as<br />
it really is a special festival.”<br />
