analysis, the expansion also will result in an<br />

LeMoyen Mill and Timber’s<br />
Manufacturing Facility<br />
LeMoyen Mill & Timber LLC will acquire and invest<br />
an additional $2 million to develop a wood products<br />
manufacturing facility in LeMoyen, Louisiana. The<br />
mill site is located near U.S. 71 in northern St. Landry<br />
Parish, with access to the Union Pacific Railroad line.<br />
The result of this acquisition includes 32 new direct<br />
jobs and 20 retained employees, representing<br />
nearly $2,000,000 per year in total direct payroll,<br />
plus benefits.<br />

Crown Bioscience<br />
Pharmaceutical Facility<br />
Crown Bioscience will coordinate its research efforts<br />
with the New Iberia Research Center, an affiliate<br />
of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, which<br />
specializes in the management of non-human<br />
primates for applied and basic research. At<br />
the research center, Crown Bioscience will make a<br />
$1 million capital investment and create 10 new<br />
direct jobs with an average annual salary of<br />
$70,000, plus benefits.<br />

how Louisiana’s higher education system is<br />
leveraging its strengths to attract new investment<br />
in bioscience to our state. Sophisticated<br />
pharmaceutical research performed in a sensitive<br />
and progressive manner is essential for our state,<br />
nation and world to combat illnesses and diseases<br />
that continually pose new challenges. We’re proud<br />
that this important work will be taking place in<br />
our state and will build upon the resources of UL<br />
