Project
The $400 million St. Landry project will create
120 permanent positions with an average salary
of $63,500, plus benefits. According to an LED
analysis, the expansion also will result in an
estimated 145 new indirect jobs, along with 200
construction jobs.

LeMoyen Mill and Timber’s
Manufacturing Facility
LeMoyen Mill & Timber LLC will acquire and invest
an additional $2 million to develop a wood products
manufacturing facility in LeMoyen, Louisiana. The
mill site is located near U.S. 71 in northern St. Landry
Parish, with access to the Union Pacific Railroad line.
The result of this acquisition includes 32 new direct
jobs and 20 retained employees, representing
nearly $2,000,000 per year in total direct payroll,
plus benefits.

Crown Bioscience
Pharmaceutical Facility
Crown Bioscience will coordinate its research efforts
with the New Iberia Research Center, an affiliate
of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, which
specializes in the management of non-human
primates for applied and basic research. At
the research center, Crown Bioscience will make a
$1 million capital investment and create 10 new
direct jobs with an average annual salary of
$70,000, plus benefits.

how Louisiana’s higher education system is
leveraging its strengths to attract new investment
in bioscience to our state. Sophisticated
pharmaceutical research performed in a sensitive
and progressive manner is essential for our state,
nation and world to combat illnesses and diseases
that continually pose new challenges. We’re proud
that this important work will be taking place in
our state and will build upon the resources of UL
Lafayette and the New Iberia Research Center.”
