The Commuter - What is your job
title at St Barth Commuter?
Alban Parisot - Several titles are
used depending on the size of an
airline or its maintenance bays.
Maintenance director, maintenance
manager, head of maintenance, or
technical director. At the same time,
the head of maintenance can have
different attributions, depending
on the size of the company and
the range of its activities. For
me, the tasks are based on the
organization and planning for
aircraft maintenance: checking
maintenance operations and work
files; managing the organization of
technicians’ schedules; mastering
company and auditing techniques;
knowledge of Quality and Safety
standards and, last but not least,
acquiring the management skills
needed to lead and direct teams.
TC - How would you describe the
maintenance center, its operation,
and its staff?
AP - The role of an aircraft
maintenance center, called “Part-
145” (in terms of regulations), carries
out the maintenance work as
defined by the company that built
the plane, making sure to respect
and maintain the navigational
ability of the aircraft during its
operation and/or its life. The
aeronautical maintenance manager
supervises and manages the
maintenance done by technicians
and mechanics. This way, I receive
the list of tasks to complete on the
plane via a purchase order Part-
CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness
Management Organization), the
airline’s technical office which
ultimately represents the client.
The Part-CAMO determines the
maintenance program to follow
based on the information from
the manufacturer so that the
aircraft maintains its navigability.

repairs” (Part-145) and “surveillance

Alban Parisot - Plusieurs intitulés
peuvent être utilisés suivant les
dimensions des compagnies aériennes
et ou les ateliers de maintenance :
Responsable entretien, Maintenance
manager, Responsable maintenance ou
Directeur technique. De la même façon,
le Responsable maintenance peut avoir
différentes attributions, en fonction
de la taille et du domaine d’activité
de son entreprise. Pour ma part, elles
s’orientent vers l’organisation et la
planification du travail de maintenance
avion ; la vérification des interventions
de maintenance et des dossiers de
travaux ; la gestion de l’organisation du
planning des techniciens ; la maîtrise
des techniques de l’entreprise et
d’audits ; la connaissance des normes
en termes de Qualité et de Sécurité et,
enfin, l’acquisition de compétences en
management pour animer et diriger
des équipes.
TC - Comment décririez-vous le centre
de maintenance, sa fonction et ses
équipes ?
AP - Le rôle d’un centre de maintenance
avion, appelé « Part-145 » (au sens
du règlement), est d’exécuter les
tâches de maintenance définies par le
constructeur, de façon à respecter et
maintenir la navigabilité de l’aéronef,
durant son exploitation et/ou sa
vie. Le responsable maintenance
aéronautique supervise et gère
la maintenance effectuée par les
techniciens et mécaniciens. Ainsi, je
reçois la liste des tâches à accomplir sur
l’aéronef via un bon de commande du «
Part-CAMO » (Continuing Airworthiness
Management Organisation), le bureau
technique de la compagnie aérienne
qui, finalement, représente le client. Le
Part-CAMO a déterminé le programme
d’entretien à appliquer suivant les
données des constructeurs afin que
l’avion maintienne sa navigabilité. Les
deux activités de « maintenance /
réparation » (Part-145) et « surveillance
