I was born on March 29, 1965 in Lecco, a town surrounded by mountains and lakes. Fortunately, in the Lario you can enjoy many outdoor activities, so hiking, cycling, climbing and skiing in the local mountains were a matter of course from the very beginning. Grigna, Resegone, Campelli and many other mountains became my favorite playground. When I turned 18 and had my driver's license, I decided it was time to live out my passions abroad too. The mountains are my life: in summer I climb and cycle, in winter deep snow skiing becomes my prima donna every year. I only got into telemark skiing later, in April 2002 in Mottolino in Livigno. I managed my first descent without falling: my mentor Paolo Arrigo (sadly no longer with us) gave me the right tips and in September I had everything I needed: a complete set of telemark equipment was waiting for me. At the end of November 2007, I felt I had a good technique and decided to go to the TSE (Telemark Snow Event) in the Schnalstal Valley. There I met Mariano Valcanover, the leader of the TSE group, and was immediately accepted into the group. In the following winters, I went to the ski resorts with them almost every weekend: We introduced telemark with the famous IMPRINTING technique (fast learning technique for the telemark turn) and we realized that people were interested, they wanted to know more about this discipline, how to practice it, what are the differences with classic skiing and what is so exciting in the end. It's an art to tell others about telemark from the heart, and I'm a "master" at it... I enjoy it and it reinforces my desire to practice it and pass on this passion I feel inside me.
