HINCHAS, and Errant Press, as the trio discusses working
with authors and navigating the publishing industry. They
will curate a special reading and make a selection from
their publishing catalogs available for purchase as well.

Department (EDD) will provide information about
programs they offer, including unemployment insurance,
state disability insurance, paid family leave, workforce
services, jobs and training.

Financially Lit – Borrowing Beats Buying
It goes without saying that libraries provide a wealth of resources, but did you know these resources go beyond books and free wifi?
Here are a few ways Burbank Public Library can help your wallet in 2024:
1. Borrowing books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, & eBooks: On average, any one of these items can cost $20 or more. You can borrow
them for free from the library. This can save you a lot of money over time, especially if you consume a lot of these products.
2. Access to online resources: Have you ever wanted to learn a new skill, a new language, or research your ancestry? The library can
help with that. Your library card grants you access to a variety of databases, academic journals, and learning platforms.
3. Free events and classes: Burbank Public Library offers free events and classes like author readings, workshops, movie screenings,
and family story time. These can be a great way to save on entertainment and education.
4. Free computer and Internet access: We offer free access to computers and wifi, but we also have printing for a nominal fee,
fax and scan services, and even one-on-one tech help.
5. Specialized Resources: The Spark! Digital Media Lab offers access to technology used in the media industry to create music,
movies, animation, 3D prints, and so much more. Learn from experts, practice skills, and build portfolios - all for free!
Job Connect, a self-service job resource center at the library, allows you to print up to 10 pages of job-related materials
at no cost and access free online career development and training.
6. CA State Park Pass: Interested in the great outdoors? Use your library card to place a hold and check out a CA Park Pass for free
vehicle day use entry valid at 200+ participating state parks.
