DOGS<br />
<strong>Kalajoki</strong> also warmly welcomes your<br />
four-legged family members! Here you will<br />
find a number of dog-friendly restaurants,<br />
accommodation options as well as activities<br />
and places to visit. <strong>Kalajoki</strong> also offers great<br />
jogging terrains all year round. Your pet will<br />
also have a relaxing holiday in <strong>Kalajoki</strong>.<br />
The diverse marine nature is ideal for outdoor<br />
activities and spending leisure time.<br />
For example, the Hiekkasärkät area features<br />
wooden duckboards on the shore for easy<br />
access to places on the beaches. At the northern<br />
end of the tourist centre, the duckboards<br />
connect to the Vihaslahti nature trail,<br />
which leads all the way to the Vihaslahti birdwatching<br />
tower and the wonderful Maristo<br />
area. Crossing highway 8 from the Tapion<br />
Tupa cabin gets you to the Siiponjoki nature<br />
trail. In addition, a network of sawdust tracks<br />
with a soft surface crosses through the tourist<br />
centre. Dogs who are used to cycling and<br />
are in a good shape would enjoy experiencing<br />
a tour around the <strong>Kalajoki</strong> terrains with their<br />
person riding a fatbike.<br />
A new dog park opened in the centre of <strong>Kalajoki</strong><br />
for the canines to run around and meet<br />
friends! The dog park has separate areas for<br />
small and big dogs. The park is located next<br />
to the Jussi Jokinen sports park, so the whole<br />
family will have fun here!<br />
Every now and then nature calls and your<br />
dog just has to go, no matter of where it is.<br />
Let’s keep the beach and the surroundings<br />
perfectly tidy. Bags for picking up after your<br />
dog as well as toys and pet food are available<br />
at S-market, the ABC store and K-Supermarket,<br />
for example.<br />
