Addison Rudolph returned to OHSAA Wrestling State Tournament, held March 8-10 at
the Schottenstein Center. It was her fourth year to qualify for the season finale that features
the states’ 16 best in 14 weight classes. This year, the Central Crossing senior
moved up a weight class and took the number one spot at the Division I District
Tournament at 120# pounds. Rudolph started off the tournament with two wins before
falling to eventual champ, Kayla Moroschan by a score of 3-0 in her third match. She
came up on the short end of another close match in the semi-final before bouncing
back into the win column, and taking a 5-2 win over senior Josie Nickoloff of Olentangy
Orange (shown here). The final win would place Rudolph on the podium in fifth place,
making her a four-time state placer. She finished the season with a record of 43-13.
During her career, she captured over 120 wins, as well as earning Academic All Ohio
honors. Rudolph recently accepted a scholarship to wrestle at Cambellsville
University in Kentucky.
It was the first trip for Central Crossing sophomore Jacob Ramirez to the OHSAA State
Wrestling Tournament, held March 8-10 at the Schott. Ramirez qualified for the states’
biggest wrestling stage by finishing in the top four at the district tournament in the
Division I, 150-pound class. He was unable to capture a win at the tourney, bringing his
season record to 36-16.
