NORWICH VIKINGS
Having a heritage tracing back to 1936, Lyng stands as a
venue rich in history and tradition. Initially serving as a site
for hill climbs, the Norwich Viking Motorcycle Club later
shifted to mountain grasstracks following World War II,
eventually settling into scrambles, now recognised as
modern motocross, since 1949 onwards.
Cadders Hill is a mainly natural, sand-based track which
cuts up rough as the race schedule progresses, and
continues to provide some of the toughest technical and
physical challenges in the British Championship. The
committed team from the Norwich Vikings work tirelessly
to keep the venue relevant to the standards of modern
motocross without compromising the traditional values of
the former Grand Prix venue. For this season a new loop
has been introduced to utilise some of the infield on the
top of the hill, which has the dual effect of extending the
lap times and changing the approach to the sand pit
which has also undergone some revision.
