Ensuring the world’s access to
omega-3s, sustainably
Veramaris® Pets algal oil is the latest addition
to dsm-firmenich’s petfood portfolio.
Containing 60% eicosapentaenoic acid
(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) –
the highest of any solution on the market
– it delivers more than double the potency
of equivalent fish-oil while also providing
enhanced taste and stability benefits.
Around 930 billion fish are removed from
the oceans each year, just to supply the
pet food industry with fish oil and meal. 1
Veramaris® Pets aims to change this as an
infinitely consistent and scalable source
of omega-3 that does not rely on fish
stocks. With Veramaris® Pets joining dsmfirmenich’s
growing petfood portfolio,
producers will benefit from the company’s
worldwide team of experts, global supply
chain and access to a leading range of
nutritional and taste products.2
At Petfood Forum, dsm-firmenich will
also showcase DHAgold, which offers
petfood brands even more versatility
in DHA fortification. This easy-to-use
powder is made from fermented algae
and is scientifically proven to support
brain health in dogs. In one study, a group
of 8- to 11-year-old dogs were fed food
containing DHAgold for 6 months and
displayed significantly improved memory
and visual performance.3
All bite, no bark
Additionally, at Petfood Forum 2024
dsm-firmenich will spotlight its flavorenhancing
solutions for improving the
taste in petfood applications with a
Cheddar cheese flavor concentrate. Made
using genuine Wisconsin Cheddar cheese
and whey, this versatile spray-dried
powder helps producers craft irresistible
food for dogs.
Petfood Forum 2024 attendees will also
be able to learn more about Leva-Mos®
– a convenient, spray-dried, prebiotic
powder that supports healthy digestion,
gastrointestinal health and immunity
by stabilizing the gut microflora and
strengthening intestinal barrier function
in dogs.
And we combine this ethos with decades
leading technology and substantial
