If you’d like more information, and would like to track movements of the Sun’s active regions
from its backside, try:
Getting Help
If you are having trouble getting your monitor to work or data to appear, contact your Research
Mentor. If that fails, you may contact:
SID@sun.stanford.edu
Now, go for it!
Now that you have the tools to investigate your data it should be fun! It will become easier and
faster with practice. You may find events that GOES data has not posted or maybe you found an
event other than a solar flare. You may be able to make predictions about potential flares and
track your accuracy. You are part of a network of people watching the sky and looking for solar
flares. We will all have questions and answers. If you have found something new or strange let
us know. Share your findings with other people in this program. Happy hunting!
